Magnus Chase has always been a troubled kid. Since his mother’s mysterious death, he’s lived alone on the streets of Boston, surviving by his wits, keeping one step ahead of the police and the truant officers. One day, he’s tracked down by an uncle he’s never met—a man his mother claimed was dangerous. His uncle tells him an impossible secret: Magnus is the son of a Norse god. The Viking myths are true. The gods of Asgard are preparing for war. Trolls, giants and worse monsters are stirring for doomsday. To prevent Ragnarok, Magnus must search the Nine Worlds for a weapon that has been lost for thousands of years. When an attack by fire giants forces him to choose between his own safety and the lives of hundreds of innocents, Magnus makes a fatal decision. Sometimes, the only way to start a new life is to die . . .

Completed Series: Part 2

Yesterday I made a post about some of my completed series and here I am with the follow up post. Click here to go to the first post. This post consists of all the series that I finished in 2014(which is actually quite a lot!) and this year as well.

Completed Series: Part 1

I decided today that I’d make a post of my completed series because I find these posts interesting to read.I decided to split this post up into two parts so that it wouldn’t be too long. I won’t talk about each one in a lot of detail because then this post would be really long but I will talk about my overall opinion of the series. These will be ordered in chronological order from the first series I completed to the latest series I completed and it will only include series where all the books have been released(excluding companion novels).

Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

Anyone who knows me at all will know that I own a lot of books that I have not read so when I saw this topic I knew that I wanted to make a list full of books that I’ve owned for a long time. However. when I thought about this topic, I decided to include a mix of books. This spring, I shall be sitting my GCSEs so I plan on reading a lot less but I still hope to read quite a bit. Anyway, I’m rambling on so lets just get on to my TBR. I have not included any new releases in this and it is in no particular order.

Top Ten All Time Favourite Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a Weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

This topic is so hard because as you probably already know, I have many favourite books! It was really hard to narrow it down to just 10 and I know that I’ll probably kick myself for not including a certain book but I got it down to 10 somehow.

Top Ten Books I’d Love to Read With My Book Club

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

This week’s topic is hard because I’m not quite sure what type of books to pick. I’ve decided to pick books that I haven’t read that I think will be fun to read with a book club.

October Wrap Up

It’s the end of October and I’m kind of just sitting here wondering where the month went! I feel like this month went incredibly fast and the end of the year is fast approaching. Anyway, I read 8 books this month and I’m quite proud of that despite the fact that I’ve read much more before because my mocks are fast approaching and revision has basically taking over my life. Let’s get on with the actual books I read.

The first four books I read this month were the 2nd,3rd,4th and 5th books in the Covenant series by Jennifer L.Armentrout; Pure, Deity, Apollyon and Sentinel. I really enjoyed all of these and this series is just a whole load of fun. I wrote a whole series review of it so click here if you want to read that. I gave each book 4 out of 5 stars because while I enjoyed them, they weren’t some of the best books I’ve ever read.

The next book I read this month was The Blood Of Olympus by Rick Riordan, the final book in the Heroes of Olympus series. I really loved this book because Rick Riordan can do no wrong. He wrote another fabulous book that was amusing yet still heart breaking at times. However, one complaint I did have about the book was that even though it was a great book, it wasn’t the best conclusion to the series. I felt that it was too easy at the end and we also didn’t really get to see happy endings for our favourite characters. The only character whose ending I was satisfied with and that I felt had a nice ending was Nico. I still ended up giving this book 5 out of 5 stars because I did really love it.

The next book I read was My True Love Gave to Me by various authors but all edited by Stephanie Perkins. This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it did not disappoint. I loved most of the stories and I didn’t want them to end. I wrote a whole post about it so if you are interested, click here to read it but I of course gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.

The next book I read was Famous in Love by Rebecca Serle which was another book that I was looking forward to reading and it was great. I loved the story and it was the perfect romance book however the ending did slightly annoy me because it was quite open. However, Rebecca Serle did tweet me saying that there was going to be a sequel so I’m very excited for it. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars and I did a whole review on it so click here if you are interested.

The final book I read this month was Half Bad by Sally Green. After my friend kept recommending this book to me, I finally picked it up and to be honest I’m not sure how I felt. It was interesting and the story line was great however I didn’t feel anything towards the characters at all. Also at the start it kept changing from first person to second person narrative and that really bugged me. I ended up giving this book 3 out of 5 stars because I’m unsure about how I felt towards it.

Favourite book of the month: My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins.

Books at each star level:

1 star: 0 books

2 stars: 0 books

3 stars: 1 book

4 stars: 5 books

5 stars: 2 books

Overall, this was a good reading month I think because I enjoyed most of them. Hopefully I’ll read some great books in November too. I’ll see you soon with another post.

October Book Haul

So it’s the end of October and I got quite a few books this month.I bought 6 books this month, 1 free book and I got three books for review. However before I start a little side note, at the YABirmingham Maze Runner fan party I got a few free books in the raffle(which is where the 1 free book came from) however I gave most of them away because they weren’t really books that interested me. Let’s get on with the books I got that I did keep.

The one free book I got this month was The Manifesto on How To Be Interesting by Holly Bourne. This was the only book I was interested in keeping and while I’m writing this Holly Bourne is actually at Waterstones Birmingham right now doing a signing with James Dawson and Non Pratt however I couldn’t go. This book does interest me and I will read it someday however I don’t see that day being any day soon.

I got one book for review from YABirmingham and that was My True Love Gave to Me by various authors so thank you to Gem for giving me this one! I absolutely adored this book because it had some of my favourite authors of all time in it. I did a full review on it so click here to go read that. I highly recommend this book though because it is amazing. The other two books I got for review were from Bookbridgr so thank you very much! The first one was Lips Touch by Laini Taylor which is a collection of three short stories I believe. I was really interested in this book and I was going to pick it up straight after My True Love Gave to Me however I didn’t particularly like Laini Taylor’s story  in that collection so I was a little bit put off. However I shall be picking it up eventually but just not now.The other book I got was The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith which I already read earlier this year before it’s release so click here to read my review of it. I enjoyed this book and I recommend it if you are looking for a good romance.

The first book I bought this month I bought from the school library magazine and I technically bought it last month but it came this month and that was To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. I read this earlier this year and I completely loved it. It was one of my favourite books of this year and it is definitely one of my favourite romance books. I didn’t write a review of it however because I couldn’t find a way to put my thoughts about this book into words. However I highly recommend this book. It was amazing. The other 5 books that I bought this month I bought today when I went to some charity shops with my mum. I bought The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan and yes I have already read and loved this series but in the UK they changed the cover design of this series around a year ago and I had the first and last one in the original cover design so I have been looking for them desperately in the original covers and I finally found it! I also bought The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick because I read Boy21 and Forgive Me Leonard Peacock earlier this year and I loved them both so I do want to read his other books and this is by far his most popular book. Since we went to charity book shopping I of course picked up some Sophie Kinsella books because they are always in charity shops. I bought the second and third books in the Shopaholic series, Shopaholic Abroad and Shopaholic Ties The Knot. I read the first book in this series earlier this year and I liked it so I really want to continue on with the series. The final book I bought was Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella and I have to admit, I don’t know what this one is about. It’s got to the point where as soon as I see the name Sophie Kinsella, I automatically buy it without actually looking at what it’s about.

That’s all for this month and I shall see you soon with an October wrap up. Thank you for reading.
