There are significantly less films I am excited for in 2020 compared to books. This is probably because my interest in films has severely gone down in the last year but I still have a few films that I am interested in that are releasing next year.
Chhapaak
I’ve been waiting for Deepika’s return to Bollywood for a while and this one seems so wonderful. It looks incredibly emotional but that’s exactly what I need. Deepka is perfect at emotional Bollywood films. – 10th January
Street Dancer
I hestitated putting this film on the list because I know it’s going to be terrible, but you know I love a trashy, ridiculous, fun Bollywood film. It’s all about dancing and it’s going be so fun to watch. – 28th January
PS I Still Love You
I’ve been obsessed with the TATBILB series since the first book came out in 2014, and like everyone else, I fell in love with the film last year. So of course, I am incredibly excited for the sequel. I especially can’t wait for everyone to full in love with John Ambrose McLaren. – 12th February
All The Bright Places
I really enjoyed this book when I read it, but I feel like I wouldn’t enjoy it as much if I read it now. Therefore, I am intrigued for the film to release to see if I still like the story as much. – 28th February
Gunjan Saxena
I am mainly excited for this film, because I like Janhvi Kapoor as an actress so therefore I want to see her second film. – 13th March
Angrezi Medium
Hindi Medium is one of my ultimate favourite films of all time so I cannot wait to see the sequel. I’m not sure what route it will take as the mother is not part of the cast, but I am intrigued to see what happens. – 20th March
Mulan
Mulan is one of my favourite Disney films of all time. I know that this live action version is incredibly different because it is more true to the original folklore, but I really want to watch it to see what it is like. – 27th March
83
I adore Ranveer Singh and as much as I don’t like cricket, I am still incredibly excited for this film. He is a fantastic actor so therefore, I will watch anything he releases. – 10th April
Black Widow
This is another one I hestitated putting on this list because I love the MCU, but I just don’t care about Black Widow as a character. I will still of course watch the film but I’m not sure how much I will enjoy it. – 1st May
Dil Bechara
This is the Bollywood adaptation of The Fault In Our Stars so I had to put it on this list, even though I have mixed thoughts on TFIOS and I dislike the main actor in this film but I am still interested to see what they change. – 8th May
In The Heights
I love Lin Manuel Miranda so I cannot wait for this film. I saw this show years ago but I don’t remember anything so I’m excited for the film to reignite my love for the story. – 26th June
