Most Anticipated Book Releases of 2020

There are so many amazing books coming out next year, I can’t quite believe it. I was debating about whether or not to cut this list down to my most anticipated but I want to keep it as long as possible to give you all some recommendations that you may have never heard of. This list does not include any 2020 releases that I have been lucky enough to receive ARCs of because I will probably get to those before the end of the year.

Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire

I have adored all of the previous books in the Wayward Children series so I cannot wait for the latest addition, especially since it involves us returning to a previously beloved character. – 7th January

Lucky Caller by Emma Mills

I have heard so much about Emma Mills as an author, but I’ve never read any of her books. However, this new release from her sounds right up my alley. – 14th January

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord

As you are all probably aware, I adore romances and this debut novel sounds perfect for me. – 21st January

Heartstopper Vol 3 by Alice Oseman

Who doesn’t love the Heartstopper series? I cannot wait to read more about Nick and Charlie and what they are up to. – 6th February

Of Curses and Kisses by Sandhya Menon

I’ve been obsessed with Sandhya Menon’s works since her debut released and I’m really intrigued to see how she deals in a more fantastical setting than she is used to writing in. – 18th February

Moment of Truth by Kasie West

Any new Kasie West release goes straight onto my automatic read list, I don’t even check what they are about. I just love her books. – 3rd March

Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare

Does this even need explanation? I am certified Cassandra Clare trash and I’ve been eagerly anticipating the release of this book since 2013. – 3rd March

The Kingdom of Back by Marie Lu

I really enjoy Marie Lu’s books so I’m intrigued to see what this latest book from her is going to be like. – 3rd March

The Midnight Lie by Marie Rutkoski

Similarly to Marie Lu, I really enjoyed Marie Rutkoski’s previous works, therefore I am interested to see what this book is all about. – 3rd March

Hold Back the Tide by Melinda Salisbury

Melinda Salisbury is one of my favourite authors of all time so of course, her latest release went on this list straight away. This book is completely different to her past releases but I’m hoping that I still love it. – 5th March

The Honey- Don’t List by Christina Lauren

I have a love-hate relationship with Christina Lauren books but I’m still always excited for their new releases, just in case it turns itno a new favourite. – 24th March

Imagine Me by Tahereh Mafi

I hestitated putting this onto this list because I haven’t enjoyed the latest additions in this series but I am intrigued to see how it ends so I will probably just read this book to finish the whole series once again. –31st March

Aru Shah and the Tree of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi

I really enjoyed the previous two books in this series, so I really can’t wait to see what happens next. – 7th April

Runaways Vol 5 by Rainbow Rowell

I adore Rainbow Rowell so obviously I’ve been keeping up with this series as the volumes release so this latest addition will be no exception. – 21st April

Loveless by Alice Oseman

Alice Oseman is one of my top 5 favourite authors of all time and her last novel, I Was Born For This, was my favourite book of 2018. Following her journey of writing this book on Instagram, just makes me feel even more excited for it. – 30th April

The Switch by Beth O’Leary

The Flatshare was another one of my favourite romances of the year, therefore I can’t wait to see what her sophmore novel is like. – 30th April

The Betrothed by Kiera Cass

The Selection is my favourite guilty pleasure series so when she announced this other book (not related but also about royalty), I knew that I needed it. – 5th May

Four Days of You and Me by Miranda Kenneally

I haven’t read a Miranda Kenneally book in ages but she was always one of my favourite YA romance authors so I want to pick up her new release to see if I still enjoy her books. – 5th May

The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang

The Bride Test was one of my favourite romances of the year, despite not loving The Kiss Quotient so I am intrigued to find out if I enjoy this book as much as The Bride Test. – 5th May

Chasing Lucky by Jenn Bennett

2019 was the year I fell in love with Jenn Bennett’s books so therefore, her 2020 release went straight to the top of my most anticipated releases of the year. – 5th May

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevado

I adored With The Fire On High that I read this year, and her 2020 release sounds just as amazing. – 14th May

Read With Pride by Lucy Powrie

The Paper and Hearts Society was one of my favourite books of the year and I just know that the sequel is going to be even better. – 14th May

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins

I assume this is going to be one most anticipated releases lists because of course. I am sceptical and I want to re-read The Hunger Games first but I am intrigued to see what it is like. – 19th May

Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne

This is another one that I am scpetical of because The Hating Game is my favourite romance of all time but 99 Percent Mine was one of my least favourite books of the year so I’m not sure which side of the spectrum this will fall on, so let’s see. – 19th May

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

There’s a severe lack of debut fantasy novels on my list but I needed this on here after I was lucky enough to read the first few chapters during my week at Usborne in the summer. – 26th May

Take A Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert

Get A Life, Chloe Brown was another of my favourite books of the year so I need the companion novel. Also, I love how most romance books are getting companion novels, it’s perfect for me. –  23rd June

Ten Things I Hate About Pinky by Sandhya Menon

Sandhya Menon is on this list twice! She’s one of my favourite authors of all time and I just feel like this might be my favourite one of hers. I adore Ten Things I Hate About You so this is going to be perfect. – 30th June

Towards the end of the year, the releases haven’t been properly confirmed yet but I assume there are some fantastic books coming out in the last few months too.
