I got a lot of books in July. I blame most of it on YALC and my impulse desire to buy books whenever I see a book that I want. This will however be a brief book haul as I did a whole YALC book haul with more information about the books I acquired there.
Slay by Brittany Morris
I received this book at the start of the month unsolicited for review and I’m actually really excited to read it. I’ve heard a lot of early buzz about it and it sounds like a really fun read so I definitely need to pick it up and review it before it comes out in October.
Heartstopper Volume 2 by Alice Oseman
Obviously I had to pick up a copy of volume 2 as soon as it released (I actually found it a few days early). I love Heartstopper as it is such a fun graphic novel series that’s completely adorable. We need more fun LGBT books in our lives and I definitely need more Alice Oseman books in my life because all of her books have been 5 out of 5 stars for me.
Attachments by Rainbow Rowell
I love Rainbow Rowell, in case you didn’t know. I am always buying new editions of her books. I managed to find an original UK hardback of Attachments on Ebay and I snapped it up straight away because I needed it. This is actually only my second copy of Attachments but I need to get the US editions of it as well as all of her other books (except for Fangirl because I obviously already have almost all of the English editions of that).
The Starlight Watchmaker by Lauren James
Lauren James is an auto-buy author for me so when her Barrington Stoke novella came out, I obviously picked it up and read it straight away. Can we just appreciate the beauty of this cover though? It’s absolutely stunning and I love it so much.
All The Things We Never Said by Yasmin Rahman
I was lucky enough to be invited to Yasmin’s book launch this month so I decided to obviously buy a finished copy of her book to support her. I took my proof copy down with me as well and got both signed and I will cherish them both forever.
The books that I acquired at YALC were:
- Infinity Son by Adam Silvera
- The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh
- Jackpot by Nic Stone
- American Royals by Katherine McGee
- Frankly in Love by David Yoon
- The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon
- The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
- Night Owls, Starry Eyes and Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett
- Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor
- The Wrong Side of Right, The Inside of Out and Night Music by Jenn Marie Thorne
- The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
- Dear Evan Hansen by Val Emmich
- If It Makes You Happy by Claire Kann
- Hot Dog Girl by Jennifer Dugan
- Crossfire by Malorie Blackman
So that is my July book haul! Any books that you received this month that you are incredibly excited for? Let me know down below!
