June Book Haul

I got quite a few books this month, some of which I bought and some that I got sent for review. I am really enjoying doing book hauls on my blog again as I get to showcase some books more often, and it makes me feel good about the fact that I’ve read a lot of the books I am buying. Anyway, here’s my June book haul.

Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart

I received this book in May in exchange for review from Simon and Schuester UK so massive thanks to them for sending this book my way. When I got the email about this book, I had never heard of it but as I read the synopsis, I knew that this was a book that I wanted to read. It arrived in a wonderful white box with pink confetti and a badge that matches the book cover which I love.

Ghosts of the Shadow Market by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson, Kelly Link and Robin Wassterman

Me being the Cassandra Clare trash that I am, I obviously had to pick up a physical copy of Ghosts of the Shadow Market. I love all of the novellas in this bind up as they follow my favourite Shadowhunter character and I think that this is the best novella collection of all three of them.

The Paper and Hearts Society by Lucy Powrie

I then obviously had to buy a finished copy of The Paper and Hearts Society to support Lucy and one of my favourite books of the year so far. This is one of the best books I’ve read this year and I know that so many other bookish people are going to adore it and you should all definitely go pick up a copy if you haven’t already got one.

I Was Born For This by Alice Oseman

The Paper and Hearts Society was a part of a Buy One Get One Half Price deal so I FINALLY picked up a finished copy of I Was Born For This. This was my favourite book of last year but I only owned the proof copy so I knew that I had to buy a finished copy to support Alice and this book. I now really want the matching editions of Solitaire and Radio Silence as the copies I own are the original UK editions.

Take A Chance on Me by Beth Garrod

After that, I received another book for review, this time from Scholastic so massive thanks to Harriet over at Scholastic for sending this my way. I had never read a Beth Garrod book before but when I received the email telling me all about this book, I knew that I wanted to review it.

Beautiful Broken Things, A Quiet Kind of Thunder and Goodbye, Perfect by Sara Barnard

When I went shopping for clothes, I stopped in The Works as one does and found this great set of Sara Barnard’s first three books. I actually already own all of these but I own proof copies of the first two and a messed up copy of Goodbye, Perfect from the charity shop. I love these covers and they look stunning on my bookshelf.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

When my friend Jamie tweeted me telling me that early copies of the new edition of Carry On were in Foyles Birmingham, I immediately had to go get a copy because I’m Rainbow Rowell trash who needs all copies of all of her books. I love this cover because I love the artwork and I cannot wait for Wayward Son to come out so I will have a matching copy.

Dear Sweet Pea by Julie Murphy

The next book I got was a review copy of Julie Murphy’s middle grade debut from Harper360YA. This comes out in October and it looks like the sweetest book ever and I cannot wait to see what this book is like, especially because I have enjoyed all of her books that I have read so far.

This Green and Pleasant Land by Ayisha Malik

When I went back to my university house to move all of my stuff out, I found a finished copy of this book there and I am very happy to have a beautiful hardback of it. I was part of the blogger street team for this so I have a review up on my blog, click here to check that out.

Those are all of the books that  I got this month, let me know which ones you’ve got and that you’re most excited to read.
