I’ve been incredibly lucky with meeting authors. I’ve met so many of my favourite authors, especially UKYA authors. However, like everyone else, there are still so many authors that I love but haven’t met yet. Today, I’m going to be sharing some of those authors with you today.
Tahereh Mafi has been one of my biggest inspirations for over 4 years now even though I’m not obsessed with her Shatter Me series. She was the first Muslim mainstream YA author that I knew of and that meant a lot to me. I would love to meet her just because of how much I looked up to her, 4 years ago.
I’m a recent Becky Albertalli fan as I only read Simon at the end of last year but I’ve become a massive fan of her work. Luckily, I am meeting her at the end of this month which I can’t wait for.
Marie Lu was one of earliest YA authors that I fell in love with as I read Legend back when it first released 7 years ago. I’ve only become a bigger fan of hers as time has gone on as I especially love her Warcross duology.
It’s no secret that I love When Dimple Met Rishi so I would love to meet Sandhya and tell her how much it meant to have a South Asian YA romance book.
Like everyone else, I was obsessed with her Anna companion novel series, especially with Lola and the Boy Next Door. Lola remains, to this day, my most read book ever because there was a solid few months where that was all that I read.
The Selection series is my biggest guilty pleasure series. I will always love that series for many reasons so therefore I’d love to meet Kiera.
Have you seen Rick on his social media? He is honestly one of the coolest people ever and I love how he is using his position and privilege to help others with his publishing imprint.
I loved My So Called Bollywood Life as it combines my two loves; Bollywood and YA. Therefore, I’d love to meet Nisha and discuss our mutual love for SRK.
I mean, who doesn’t want to meet her?
The Hunger Games is such an iconic YA series so I feel like most people are dying to meet her. Like the rest of the YA community, the Hunger Games had a big part to play in my life.
So those are some of the authors that I’m still dying to meet. Any that you’ve met? Let me know down below.
