Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish.
I’m not much of a beach person and I don’t really have specific books that I would read at a beach so I thought for this one, I would make a list of books that I want to hopefully read this summer especially since my exams finish in June and then I will have a free summer.
The Fellowship of the Ring – J.R.R Tolkien:
I grew up watching the Lord of the Rings films and I’ve always been a massive fan of them however I have never once tried to pick up the books. I feel like the summer of 2015 is the year to finally do this.
Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen:
I have never read a Jane Austen novel and this summer I’m going to push myself to read at least one of her books and since this is her most well known novel, I thought I should start with this one.
The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald:
I started this one years ago and never got that far into it(as I was spoiled) but I will finish it by the end of 2015 at least.
The Eye of Minds – James Dashner:
I bought this book the day it came out because I was really excited to read it. And I still have not read it. Whoops.
Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs:
Everyone raves about this series and I really need to get on it especially since the third one is coming out sometime soon(I think.)
The Raven Boys – Maggie Stiefvater:
I have read the first 50 pages of this book so many times but I have never got further than that. I own all three books as well.
Cinder – Marissa Meyer:
Same reason as above but I only own the first two for this series.
Second Chance Summer – Morgan Matson:
Morgan Matson is a very well loved author and I read Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour last year but I wasn’t a massive fan. This year I shall give her another chance with this novel hopefully.
The Final Empire – Brandon Sanderson:
Brandon Sanderson is another well loved author who I have yet to delve into(mainly because his books are so big!)
Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover:
Similarly to Brandon Sanderson, Colleen Hoover is a well loved author who I haven’t read anything by yet though I’m not too sure why.
Those are 10 books that I hope to read this summer. What books are you dying to read this summer? Let me know down in the comments.
Yes! The Fellowship if the Ring is fantastic! A real epic fantasy tale. This is a really good reading list with some books that I also plan to read in winter or sometime this year (I live in Australia so summer has already come and gone)
